Invictus Triathlon Club - Safeguarding Policy Statement
Invictus Triathlon Club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all individuals involved in triathlon. We believe that everyone has the right to participate in sport in a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment, free from abuse, neglect, and harm.
We recognise our duty of care to safeguard all participants and will ensure that:

All concerns about the welfare or safety of any individual are taken seriously and acted upon promptly and appropriately.
•
All club members, coaches, volunteers, and supporters understand their responsibilities under the safeguarding policy.
•
Appropriate safeguarding training and support are provided to those working with or supporting others within the club.
•
Safe and transparent recruitment practices are followed for all roles involving contact with participants.
•
The wellbeing of all individuals is prioritised in decision-making and club activities.
Invictus Triathlon Club will work in partnership with British Triathlon to uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and ensure that triathlon remains a safe, inclusive, and welcoming sport for everyone.

Invictus Triathlon Club is committed to working in line with DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) requirements and ensuring that coaches are trained to the required level in safeguarding. Those working with children and vulnerable adults will have access to the British Triathlon Safeguarding and protecting Children Policy and Adults at Risk Policy and Guidelines policy documents. Committee members will ensure that a suitable person is appointed to the role of Welfare Officer in line with safeguarding guidance.
