Bayside Tri started with a bunch of sea swimmers meeting up at Stokes Bay of a Friday evening. With this history in mind, and the lovely Lee on Solent and Stokes bay beaches available to us, we're regular sea swimmers in the warmer months. We'll also head out to inland venues, such as HOWL in Eastleigh, or Ellingham lake in the New Forest.
We hold weekly swim sessions at Gosport Leisure Centre on Thursday evenings, starting at 20:00.
Here, we offer a mix of coaching and supervised swim sets, for all abilities, from developers through to ironman World Championship competitors!
If you'd like to try us out, your first 'taster' session is free - just drop us a line!
We do ask that joiners are able to swim some front crawl; unfortunately, we're not in a position to offer swimming lessons, but if you can manage 50 metres on your own, you're more than welcome to come along!
Club Zwift Session
Club members can keep those legs ticking over during the cold and dark wintery nights by taking advantage of our free weekly Club Zwift sessions. Zwift sessions take a break over the summer months to make way for outdoor training.
These are coach-led virtual progressive sessions on Zwift with chat and/or video via a dedicated Discord channel. Ideal to join from your home/pain cave to develop endurance, strength and speed over the winter months. You can also participate in these sessions via the Discord channel without Zwift or a smart turbo trainer, as full instructions for the timings and effort levels of intervals are given throughout each session.
For more information or to be included in the weekly invite please contact Andy Peters via the Club's Facebook Members Page.
Our Bike Captain Paul Jeram will be organising regular training rides in conjunction with several Ride Leaders in 2025. These will be taking place on the 3rd Sunday of every month. These are for members of Bayside Tri and will cater for a wide range of abilities.
Events will be publicised on Facebook with details of distance, speed, elevation, expected duration and confidence levels and also whether cake may be involved! Rides will be at the ride leader’s dicretion and are led on a voluntary basis.
Happy Cycling!
With several running clubs in the near vicinity, we are fortunate that this discipline is well catered for in the local area. We have joined forces with Absolute 545 Run Club for regular run training sessions that cater for all abilities - a weekly Hills session and a weekly post-weekend Recovery session.
Club members also show a regular presence at Lee on the Solent and other local Parkruns through running, volunteering and supporting, as well as plenty of Parkrun tourism going on further afield! We also have plans for more Bayside "Parkrun ‘Takeovers" at Lee on the Solent in 2025, more details to follow!
Happy Running!
