Newcomer information

Please find below some practical information for anyone joining us for the first time:

• Dragon boat is a team sport. While we are happy to offer up to two trial sessions until you decide if you like the sport and if you want to join the team, you should be prepared for some longer-term commitment to join the trainings on a regular basis.
• The fee for participating (to be transferred after a max. of two trial trainings) is EUR 120 for the whole year. A subsidy of EUR60 from the Sports and Cultural club will be deducted in case you are eligible, hence you will have to contribute EUR60 from your own pocket.
• For your first training, you will have to be at the boat house at 18:30 (as we will have to give you a safety briefing and paddling instructions). Address is FKV 1913 e.V., Schaumainkai 90, 60596 Frankfurt. Changing rooms are available.
• Training participation is managed via a poll under this link. If you want to join, please sign up there: https://nuudel.digitalcourage.de/sDlfZJRsWTRlhPC2 (please note: the poll is only valid for the date indicated in the title of the poll. It is not possible to sign up in advance for trainings further in the future)
• You should bring (or come in) standard sports cloths and have something dry with you to change afterwards (as there may be some splashing involved). Also, please wear shoes that can get slightly wet.
• In case you cannot make it on Wednesday on short notice, please let Jan-Olaf Droese or Adeep Taneja know. But please make an effort to stick to your participation. Last-minute changes are difficult to accommodate and may result in someone else also being impacted.
• The boat house has a restaurant and quite a number of team members will stay after the training for drinks or food. Feel free to join.
