On behalf of Wiltshire Youth Canoe Club we would like to welcome you to the club and provide you with some information about our activities. The club provides opportunities for young people between the ages of 8yrs and 23yrs to receive coaching. There will also be opportunities to partake in canoe/kayak competitions and river trips. All coaching is by qualified coaches who are trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people.
The club has recently achieved Sport England's Clubmark Gold Accreditation, which is awarded to Canoe Clubs by the British Canoe Union when the club is able to demonstrate that it meets the Top Club Gold criteria as to the playing programme; safeguarding and protecting children; sports equity and ethics and club management. Clubmark Gold is an acknowledgement that we take these issues seriously and that we are striving to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in the sport. Our club welfare officers, Louise Brown and Alison Nightingale are responsible for ensuring that our child protection policy is implemented and can be contacted at the club should you have any concerns.
We welcome parents to all training and competitions and value your support. We are keen to try and involve parents in the club and would welcome you to any evening session where you can meet club members and find out more about the club.
