Who We Are

Somerset West Hockey Club is a proud, family-oriented hockey club with a strong competitive edge. Established in 1975, the club has grown into one of the largest hockey communities in the Western Cape, offering opportunities for players of all ages and abilities — from juniors discovering the game to seniors and masters competing at a high level.

At our core, we are a club built on respect, inclusion, and a shared love for hockey. We believe that great hockey environments balance enjoyment, development, and performance — and we strive to create exactly that, both on and off the field.

How the Club Is Run

Somerset West Hockey Club is managed by a dedicated committee of volunteers who oversee governance, operations, finances, and communication. Coaches and managers work closely with the committee to ensure teams are well supported, organised, and aligned with the club’s values and goals.

This structure allows the club to operate professionally while remaining rooted in community involvement and volunteer spirit.
