Help us fundraise for new pitch equipment

Thu, 02 Oct 2025, 14:08

Our pitches at Knightsbridge and Rykneld Sports Centre are central to everything we do at AFC Mackworth. They’re not only where our teams train and play, but also spaces that young people and families across Mackworth enjoy every day.

Recently, we’ve seen a decline in the condition of these pitches. To help address this, we carried out a PitchPower inspection through the Football Foundation. Their recommendation was to invest in three key pieces of equipment: a compact tractor, multi-groomer and spray line marker. These will help us better maintain the pitches and ensure they’re safer and more enjoyable for everyone.

The total cost of this equipment is £33,516, but thanks to Football Foundation support, 75% is already covered. That leaves us needing to raise £8,379 - a big challenge for a volunteer-run club, but one that will make a huge long-term difference to our facilities. We have recently received confirmation of a grant from the Mackworth Neighbourhood Board, meaning we now only need to raise £5,000.

To help achieve this, we’ve launched a crowdfunder: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/afc-mackworth

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will go directly towards securing this equipment.

We’d also love to hear from anyone who might want to help us raise funds through events or other ideas. If you’d like to get involved, please email us at [email protected]. Every bit of support makes a difference.
