A Monthly Update from chairman Dan Willis: July
As we begin preparations for next season, a season which we hope to be even more successful than the last, I wanted to give you some updates on things that you can look forward to in the run up.
First and foremost, you may have seen the announcement already, but we have a very exciting event coming up where Britain’s Got Talent finalists Han & Fran are coming to Mackworth to perform their ultimate ABBA tribute act on July 19th.
Tickets for the event are on sale now available here. This is something we are very excited about, and we hope you are too as it is not very often BGT finalists come to town so grab your tickets and don’t miss out!
Keep your eyes peeled on our social media pages for an upcoming giveaway in which we will be giving away four brand-new Nike footballs and three pairs of brand-new Nike shin pads to people who enter, it is a zero-cost giveaway so be ready to enter!
About a month or so ago we ran a competition to design your own kits with a poll being put out to decide our official AFC Mackworth kits for next season.
Some of you may have noticed that the poll we put out hit the maximum quota for responses, something we didn’t even know would’ve been an issue but that just shows you how many people were engaged with this - so thank you everyone who took the time to look at the kits and respond and more importantly thank you to everyone who designed a kit.
The football season isn't a true football season without pre-season and we are looking forward to welcoming back the seniors for the beginning of their pre-season next Wednesday, 9th July.
We are currently looking for friendlies for our senior team and if any teams would be interested please get in contact with the club, we are able to host the match or travel for the match with hopes to get fully prepared for the upcoming season.
As always, we really need more coaches and general volunteers to get involved in the club to help things room smoothly for your children.
